First record about Kremenets appears in 1226, Kremenets aquired town rights in 1438 and was a part of ruskie voivodship of I Polish Republic. Then, for the second time, Kremenets became Polish in 1919-39.
The most interesting monuments of Krzemieniec are churches and convents (founded, among others, by Polish nobles and queen Bona Sforza) currently belonging to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Famous Polish poet-writer Juliusz Słowacki was born here.
There is a Polish school in the town. Its students have visited our town several times.
