About the town

The town of Hranice lies on a long hill between Velička and Ludina brooks, and the Bečva river.
Hranice was founded as a market village (it aquiered town rights in 1276 along with a name of Alba Ecclesia, confirmed in 1292). Former names of Hranice were: Granice, Alba Ecclesia, Weissenkirschen, Weisskirschen oraz Maerische Weissenkirschen. Currently the town is a center of Hranicko microregion.

The partnership agreement between Konstancin-Jeziorna and Hranice was signed on 7th April, 2006 in Hranice by their mayors: Marek Skowroński and Vladmir Juračka.

Cultural and sport exchange is the main part of the cooperation.
